A place where small groups can continue their discussions beyond their face-to-face meetings.
As long time members, small groups have been the glue that held us together through good and tough times. Wayne Harman and I started the Grey Panthers more than twenty years ago and we still meet most Thursday nights for Bible study, prayer and fellowship.
We hope this blog will help gather interest and help to publicize the small group effort.
I totally agree w/Bill C. re small groups. Johnny and I have been in two, both lastings close to 20 yrs. each. It has concerned me somewhat that the leadership of TF does not seem to see the importance and impact that these groups can have. There, I feel better already!
I love my small fellowship group. It(they) are the glue that has kept me together and kept me coming back to TFC. With the small groups is where you become close with a few people. Your not just a person in a large church that people don’t know your there or even notice you. In the small group you really have a love for one another. And that’s what it is all about. Not just showing up on Sunday for Church.
We had a great meeting last evening. We used the 4 Quaker questions to help newcomers get to know us and the old timers know each other better.
1. Where did you live between the ages of 5 and 12 and what were the winters like?
2. How was your home heated?
3. Two parts
a. What was the center of warmth in your life when you were a child.
b. Who was the center of warmth in your life?
4. When did God become a “warm” being to you and how did this happen?
So, are “small group discussions” and “fellowship groups” one and the same?
I guess it doesn’t much matter, both accomplish the same results….
a shared love of Jesus Christ, our Savior!
I’m very, very excited to hear that small groups will soon become a priority at TFC!!!
